Re: Now I know I found my problem!!!!!!
Thanks Dave. The problem has been solved. After a couple of tune-up runs. I went -96.5.
And thats with a head with stock size valves, and a cam that would be legal in a stocker.
I'm not going to throw the good pieces on it till next year.
The car is leaving good again my short times were 1.76 to 1.78 But the motor won't breathe right only going 103 mph.
But I'm pleased with the footbrake leaving. I won't break as many parts. I screwed up a bearing on my differential carrier and had a new one put on. I thought the clearances would be the same. And in a rush to get it to the track yesterday I didn't check it.
Well after a few runs I was going up for another run and shut it off to coast to the head of the lanes. There was a terrible sound coming from the differential. So I went back to the trailer and home. I pulled the cover and there's .060 to much clearance.
Didn't do any harm thank God. But if I had the transbrake in it, it would have broken the unit for sure.
