A LS7 has Titanium Rods, Intake valves and Dry sump the rules in stock does Do Not Allow any of these! As the rule state even thought the LS& has been in the NHRA STOCK BLUE PRINTS FOR the last 3 years.

Gm has to lower the HP rating on their best engines for new camaro's to succeed in NHRA drag racing . If they dont the car will not be completive and no one will race it

The fact that GM keeps the HP rating high on their cars is the main reason that I moved to the Mustang Cobra Jet. Ig GM would just put a LS7 427/ 505 detuned to 350hp in a new camaro it could run with the CJ &DP . The car with driver would only weight 2970lbs . The reason guy's like me are switching to Ford & Mopar is that these companies want fast race cars racing NHRA.

As long as GM rates the supercharged LS9 @638 it will not out run the CJ and Ford
