I won class at Indy in 08 in G/SA and had to race 4 rounds to win it. I received a small amount of money and a trophy. I had a blast doing this, and it is one of my most proudest accomplishments. Besides the trophy, the money I received just about paid for the gas and ice I used that day. What made it good was competing against the other cars. The reason we do this!!
The new way of class at least adds a level of competition that the guy that just ran for singles, or in a class that just had a car or 2 now and then. It isn't like he is getting cheated out of money. There is NONE!!!

I am not talking about the money issue BUT it is not a true class win. Everyone here builds their car to a specific class. So at these specific races NHRA should not cheat them out of a class win trophy. The guys are paying the ever rising cost to participate in these events the least they can do is RECOGNIZE their efforts. IF they want to run them off in this insane way for small amount of cash so be it.
