Just wanted to give ya'll a heads-up. Linda & I are announcing that we have agreed to sell a majority interest in NPR to a New Orleans group of racers. We will become minority owners, which will give us a chance to take a break from the day-to-day operations of the track.
Relax. We will still be here to run the NHRA events at NPR (somebody has to park the early-bird rigs on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday

), but we need a break from the daily grind we’ve been under for the past 10 years. It won’t be much of a break for the next few months with the D-4 Lucas Oil race and a Pass Time production in May, and the NHRA Unleashed race in June. We will still live in our house at the track entrance when we are here, so we really won’t be going away.
Since our rear-end auto accident in May of last year, both of us are suffering from back and neck injuries. My neurologist encouraged me to avoid any chance of another concussion, so I sold my stocker real cheap to a friend, and gave my super-stocker to a couple of local bracket racers to play with. I had them take it home to get it out of my race shop, because I kept hearing it call my name, tempting me to take her down the track one more time.
Who knows? Without us having to be here for payroll, paying the bills, and running the office, you just might see us at several of the divisional and national events. Our plans are to fly our plane across the country visiting other racetracks, offering the owners our perspective on how to improve their facilities and operations to become more successful. Guess we will consider ourselves as “consultants”?
If we can be of help to any of ya’ll, just give me a call on my cell at (985) 665-7145, or e-mail me at

C-Ya down the road.
