Default Re: When do you activate your Throttle Stop?

We have two Stop cars, a H/R car that runs 9.90's and 137 and slowed to 10.90 and a S/R car that runs 9.00's at 149 and slowed to 9.90.

With the hot rod car I come on the stop at .050, my static rpm is 4000RPM and its on the stop usually around 2.2 seconds, shift on rpm at 6600. Its a grunt motor and runs 10.90 at 136 MPH. My 60's are typically 1.70 with the stop on and 1.39 all out.

The Super rod car I have tried setting up 3 different ways so far in testing.

Tried going on stop at .200 at 5000 RPM and shifting at 7000 RPM (on stop for 2.5 seconds. 60's were all over the place

Tried goin on stop at .100 and shifting at .800 on time (stop rpm of 5000 again) on stop for 1.8 seconds average) consistant 60's but car seemed to struggle coming off the stop in high gear

This past season set it up to go on stop at .100 at 4300 rpm shift at 7000 rpm and was on stop for 2.1 seconds. this way seemed the best for consistancy, my 60's were very consistant and the car was soft coming off stop and charged well. Still struggled abit with ratio it seems but overall this set up worked best.3

As many have said theres a 1000 ways to do it, but sometimes its nice to see what others are doing and maybe get a fresh idea or something new to experiment with to see if you ride likes it or not.
