Default Re: Drag Strip Landing at NPR

Pat,
Your 35 years late, landing on your drag strip.
I had Whitehouse and I-20 and built the Prescott Ar. track (with the closed Whithouse parts/equip.)
I lived in Texarkana and flew in and out of the strips. .Sometimes in a 152 a 172 and a couple of times I rented our local college 182. The hill at I-20 was real exciting to fly off/out of. I went out of there one night with aft CG (had WW-1 in the baggage compartment) and almost/almost stalled. I also forgot the dash lights that night. Talk about seat of the pants flying. Landing was pretty easy, despite the grade. Prescott was fun to land on because we had the PA speakers up on poles by the guard rail. Tight wing tip clearance. I usually put it down short field and just idled past the PA speakers. Man, you talk about a post bringing back old memories, yours did!! Thanks I think you fanned an old flame I have..:~)
