The rumor mill says that SIR is purchasing a booked-in nitro show from Feld Entertainment so it's not "technically" an IHRA race.  I'm sure NHRA loves that. I'm guessing it'll just be a bracket race to go with it. I think they'd run into problems if they tried to have an IHRA TOC-Qualifying Sportsman event and try to say it's not an IHRA event. Didn't IHRA do a Thunder Jam or Night of Fire deal at Numidia Dragway (NHRA) a few years ago?

Michael, I looked at the Rockingham thread on the subject and didn't spot that, thanks for clarifying. It was doubly confusing to me that D9 schedule had not been released as yet even though that's the stronghold of IHRA sportsman racing. I hope you and Chip are correct, without healthy competition NHRA will....well, you know.
I don't recall the Numidia deal but I was actively bracket racing on the west coast a few years ago, one of the class veterans will chime in on that. Amazing that NHRA wouldn't do more than roll their eyes over this...
