So how many cars do think haven't been built with good parts from the start? You assume there is so much untapped performance left because these new combos haven't spent years developing technologies in headers, converters, etc. That development exists, if you are building a new car today you buy the latest (best available) technology as your starting point. Companies like Burns have made it their business to understand header technology and why certain designs are more effective so its not the same backyard experimentation that it was in the 60's to find what works for a new combination.

And if the 2.3L Eaton blower on the CJ stocker engines is less efficient than the 4.0L Whipple on the SS engine then maybe you just skip considering FX classes and push those cars go to the ADRL!
