Speaking of the spring nationals, 1967 I was driving a 1960 chev biscayne owned by Johnny Novak. Car ran D/S with a 320 hp 348 built by Bill Jenkins. We managed to beat all the 57 Chevys and won the
class.
At tear down the NHRA guy checked everything but when he looked at the combustion chamber and piston in the block he was scratching his head , about that time the Grump came walking by and said don`t worry that block and piston is legal. The NHRA guy said good enough for me and we were the D/S winner.
