Yeah, that would've been great, Paul, but as we all know, GM had that IDIOTIC anti-racing ban in effect that limited the cubic inches (400 cu. in. max) in the very popular mid-size supercars up 'til the Fall of 1969 when the new '70 models came out with the mega-cube big-blocks.
The ruling only effected the drag strip and not the street, where more than a few street Chevelle SS's had a 427 swapped in place of the factory 396 of whatever version that was originally in there.
