Listen to the runs and to see if people are running their number. Pay attention to the wind, there is so much you can do to help your program while waiting. For me its a blessing when I have to wait for my opponent. I get to go over ever aspect of the run, the more info I have the better chance I have at wining.

Making a positive out of a negative will give you a better chance of wining, and most of all, it makes your racing experience more enjoyable. With all things to be upset about, waiting for your opponent seems to be trivial at best.
You exactly right Ken. It seems as though the traveling sportsman, and the Hitters are the ones who are usually toward the end of the session. So all these cry babies don't like to race them and want to close the lanes so the don't have to run them.
"Oh they play the ladder game to set up on me", "Oh, they show up late and still have to sit behind 20 pair before they run" I don't like that, can we close the lanes? I'd rather run a single than show them who is the better driver....
