I live in Canada (West Coast), but close to the US border. Although there is no longer duties like before, there is provincial and GST taxes that may or not be applicable, depending on what the item is. Since I live near the border, I normally have parts shipped to a US border town parcel depot, and pick up my stuff in the US, and handle my own Canada Customs paperwork, which is cheaper than dealing with a Customs Broker agency. If you do not live near a border, then you need to factor in the brokers fee`s, and higher transport costs. As for the differance between Canadian & US money, it is constantly changing, but lately, our Canadain dollar is worth approx 94 cents US. (Much better for us than the 65 cents it was several years ago).
