I know most people say your trailer is covered by the insurance of the truck that is pulling it, but I find it hard to believe a basic insurance coverage is going to pay on a claim where there is a massive loss of a truck, race hauler and racecar, especially when it thought it was only covering a truck.

Evan.....To be covered for the trailer you need seperate insurance for it added to your auto policy usually obtained thru your auto/truck insurance carrier to be safe. It is not expensive and gives you peace of mind. I do not believe your homeowner policy will cover a trailer or race car. Mine does not in Maryland. I have done this in the past for a couple of race cars and still do for the motorcycle trailer. The Harley is tagged and registered thru my auto insurance. If the trailer gets loose and causes an accident you are responsable not to mention the loss. Several collector car insurance companies will insure a race car during transportation to and from the race track and while being stored. I believe Hagerty will do this type coverage and rates and coverage can be obtained at a "Declared" value? I dont know of any who will cover a race car while "On Track" unless your a billionaire and could afford it. Different states have different requirements. Its best to contact your insurance carrier for the state the vehicles are regestered in..
