If you shut down right off the line, you come down off a consistent (rev limited) RPM every time. The RPMs for the first N seconds are always the same. Not if you choose your way.

Also, think about how weird it would be to judge the stripe when slowing down... that'd be strange...

In 2001 Ed DeSault was SG Champ He beat out Scotty Richerdson. Ed stops off the line then turns stop back on at the other end. If he needs to he will hit the over ride to get back in front
