I do think how funny it is that NHRA is banking off an original IHRA class from 15-20 years ago and IHRA is the one that is in "BIG" trouble. Pro Mod, T/S, T/D all IHRA original classes that NHRA has taken and used for profit. I really think Comp is the one in trouble if this all goes down. IHRA got rid of the "Modified Production" class a few years ago and have all the classes still there. You look at it this way, maybe at a National Event Comp draws between 24 and 36 cars thats $9,720 for 36 cars plus if there is any crew you need to get in. T/S and T/D is about 32 to 45 cars deep per class. As long as NHRA doesn't give them special deals and make them "not pay" they make out in the deal. Say the 1st T/D and T/S race they have draws 45 cars in both classes. Thats $24,300 for total entries into the race plus crew giving NHRA a extra $ 14,500 if they drop Comp and add T/D and T/S to their pocket books. They would lose out if they drop Stock, SS, the .90 Classes cause between all of those classes they draw about 65 to 110 cars PER CLASS. Like I said I don't want to see any classes get dropped and I hope nobody does but, you know it's going to happen. They already hurry up and run everyone on Thursday and Friday in the sportsman classes and if you can't sit and watch 8 pairs of each .90 class and Stk and SS on a Saturday/Sunday do you really belong at the track? If people only knew how close some of that racing really is...down to the ten-thousanths of a second in some races...when was the last time you saw that in T/F? Just my 14 cents...
