Re: Pics from Lindesberg,Sweden.
Number 1 qualifier, Björn Bondesson, missed the qualification rounds on Friday afternoon, but had the ride of the weekend, when he was trying to get to the track in time for scrutineering on Friday night.
Blew the left front tire of his 13 ton transporter at highway speed, and crew chief Leif Andersson, that was riding shot gun, was airborne by atleast a feet....
Luck and drivers skill kept them on the road.
They arrived to the pit 8 hours later, dirty, hungry and exhausted, least to say.
Unloaded on Saturday morning, and went straight to the top.
Lindesberg is a brand new track about 200 km northwest of Stockholm, and will surley be one of the best tracks for us in mid-Sweden in the future, concrete launch pad etc.etc,
But the track is still fresh, and I struggled all weekend in B/SA with 60´ from 1,48 to 1,78 from idle.
One exeption should be noted, the final runner up, Kjell Gisslar, in his AA/S -68 Check Mate Camaro. He almost made it, was sideways up the track from third gear, managed to straighten it up without lifting, but lost to Thomas Westberg in his H/SA Camaro by thousands.
Attached is a picture of Björn´s front tire...
