Re: Live from Bristol
NOTES FROM THE PITS (late friday)
Every class completed there 3rd session by 4pm today..... pros (starting with pro mods) are rolling into the lanes.
Air was 89 degrees again, 46 percent hum, and 28.66 baro (plain old nasty....).
I saw Anthony Fetch working under his SS car after the first qualifying session (I believe he missed the last two sessions - maybe a trans issue???)
Peter Biondo (ss car) broke a front suspension piece on his second time run (possibly a "tie-rod" end).... had to be towed off the st line.... he missed the 3rd session.
Michael Iacono (ss car) only ran the first tt session....... not sure why....
ps.... if there are 3 guys that don't need all the time trial sessions..... it's probably the three I just mentioned above.... they'll do just fine!
Bucky Hess made all three passes with his new GOLD wheels..... they have that retro "funny car" look... watch out for Bucky... He was killing the tree all day too.
SS Teardown was at the scales after the 3rd qualifying run for most of the SS modified cars. It looked like they pulled in anybody that had a hood-scoop!
We are supposed to get a 4th qual session in the morning.... but with thunder storm warnings abound..... i'd bet we are done with qualifying..... we'll see in the morning.
I'll try and load up some pics I took today.
