I called to check last week, and they will not have Sunoco for sale during the event.

They have pumps at the track but i doubt that it will open during the Nationals. I think it is Brown oil company that is the distributor in that area.

Rusty Hall has Supreme Blue, got 20 gallons from him before Bowling Green.

Thanks, gents. While I understand the whole "official fuel of NHRA", sponsorship gig etc, and what goes along with that contractually, (and I do very much thank VP for helping to sponsor our sport), it is pretty frustrating to know that NHRA will not allow, (as in flat out forbid, which is what I understand is going on) any other fuel company to have their trailer at the track.

If they pay their parking spot rental to the track owner, then they should be able to be there. As most of you know, properly flushing out the fuel cell and all the lines thorough enough to make certain you will pass fuel tech is going to result in at least 4-5 gallons ($120 if its VP) of wasted fuel....

Its fine, shame on me for not bulking up on Sunoco 110 when I had the chance.

BTW, I've never, ever had Sunoco fail fuel, even well over a year old, and sitting in the fuel cell all winter.... Cant say the same for the other company...

We had some Sunoco 110 pass at bowling green that I was not comfortable to put into my car. It had turned cloudy and yellow, but when we took it up to check, it was good. It is crazy how much it can change and still pass. C11 caused us tons of issues if it sat for any amount of time.

I loved the convenience of buying Sunoco 110 off the midway. I have some 10 gallon jugs and would usually buy 30 gal at a time. Way easier than dealing with a drum. When VP took over I thought I would cross over to c-11. Wellllll Sunoco wanted $12 a gal out of the drum.......VP $20 per gallon!! Flock off VP!

Now I'm committed to getting Sunoco in drums.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I agree 100%, and the bigger issue is how finicky VP seems to have been at fuel checks in the past. Maybe they got it together now. But if for some incredible chain of events I would actually manage to win one of these events, and then my fuel failed, I would be beyond inconsolable, as in borderline postal....

Allways Amazing to me to listen to people bitch about fuel. I have a drum of C12 that is 3 years old and a drum I bought this year both passed fuel check in Phoenix with no problem. and all so when sunoco was official fuel for NHRA you could not buy VP Racing fuel. And also at Phoenix the only fuel they had was Torco that's not even on the excepted list of NHRA fuels. So at least you have a quality fuel to choose from. And the yellow and cloudy fuel was probably the lead separating and I would not have run it in a lawnmower.

I understand that we all have different experiences and opinions. We still run VP in a couple of our cars and have no problems with it. I just had a rough patch with C11 that was not even a month old not passing a hand full of times. Always seemed like it had a very tight tolerance. That is why I mentioned how surprised I was by how much the sunoco can change in appearance and still pass.

The fuel that was seperating did not get run in my car, just took it up to test from the jug out of curiosity and it still passed. Just sharing an experience, not trying to put anyone company down.
