Pretty sure he threw in the towel when he could not get YAC wound up with his Leftist diatribe in the Lounge.

Guess when Ken hammered any political discussion (which makes the forum infinitely more enjoyable) I guess Eddie moved on. Just as well, didn?t seem the least bit interested in Class Racing anyway. Hopefully he?s concentrating on his efforts on behalf of Veterans.

That's the JOKE OF THE DAY! I sincerely doubt that he'd be wacked out like that! I'll say this, I look forward to seeing him in Pomona next year when I'll join him while enjoying the special divisional(s) there!

I'll assume he's different in person as I would not associate with someone like that voluntarily. Life is too short to deal with drama queens and shyte disturbers.

Re: Eddies 66

I would like to add a comment or two regarding Eddies 66. I met him through this forum, read about his 66 Nova, and he came out to Irwindale for the Summit races about 8 or 10 years ago where we met up front in person. Now,it's no secret how conservative I am, but that didn't bother anybody or did it negatively affect us developing quite a good friendship. I heard about his life with cars in Kingman,AZ where he grew up, his dad and his cars, and along the way I discovered that he is quite a nice guy and very devoted. He also likes to come out to Pomona for both the Winternationals and the Finals where we sit in the bleachers at the 1000 foot lights. We discuss his valiant efforts in securing benefits for our vets in their dealings with the VA, he assists them voluntarily helping them navigate the mountain of paperwork so that they can access their benefits, and that is a herculean task guaranteed to test anybody's patience. He really has taken on a noble cause. Now, he's not too politically lined up with the left or the right. He assists everybody he can find who needs it, and lambasts anybody who gets in the way. He really is guided by a deep desire to serve others and doesn't care about their politics unless somebody makes it a problem. We've had many a lunch during the races, usually at Maria's in Glendora, a noble establishment if there ever was one, and right vs left isn't the items we discuss over lunch. Usually we talk about cars and racing. No politics or rancorous talk.We talked about racing mostly, and he brought his green Nova to Irwindale during the Summit season. Now, that's no more since the land was sold and the track is now gone.We really need another office park. So Cal has absolutely none of those.
I consider Eddie a good friend, we've known each other a long time, I even remember the time I had a double hernia operation, (those are something else to recover from), and he and the guys met me at the track, helped me unload the car, put gas in it,( we were running the Chevelle wagon, and they manned the fuel jugs, the water jugs, and were quite a team running an eight second Sportsman class car.It runs N or O stock when we class race it. Lo and behold, the ring and pinion failed a couple rounds into the race,I got towed off the track and back to my trailer, and he got a small army to help me get it on the trailer. Didn't roll too smooth, either.
It didn't matter a bit about politics when we were eating, racing or watching. Eddie has been a real friend throughout the years, I'm glad to know him, and the whole story here is to not let politics have a big role in dividing people.
