Pitting at the Norwalk Points Event
In the latest National Dragster on page 31 it states "Racers also competing at our Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals June 26-29, will park in your national event pit space for the cavalcade. You will pit there throughout both events."
In past events SS,STK pitted on the east side along with comp and alcohol vehicles. Cars in SST, SG, and SC pitted on the west side for the points meet. Does this statement mean that the only cars to pit on the east side for the points meet are comp and alcohol cars? Does it mean that STK and SS will continue to stay in the east side pits? |
Re: Pitting at the Norwalk Points Event
Mike, they could be doing it like the baby gators/gators. There if you are only racing the points race and leaving, you would be good to pit pro pit area. You would have to vacate that spot at the end of the event.
Not sure if they will do it this way or not. Hope so Ernie |
Re: Pitting at the Norwalk Points Event
While we are on the topic of the Norwalk Double...... Can someone enlighten me on the details of the "Stock Shootout" and "Super Stock Shootout" on the schedule for Wednesday?

Re: Pitting at the Norwalk Points Event
It is for the RFC shootout. Like what they do for the super categories. Take the top 8 highest qualified cars that paid in and run for the cash.

Re: Pitting at the Norwalk Points Event
It will be really interesting how they work out the logistics of all the classes but alcohol being parked on both sides of the track. Round pairing if they are running out of both sides or the obstacles we will face if we have to drive to one side or the other to run out of the same side.Hopefully they will have the ticket booth fuel check and scales on both sides . Seems like it would just be easier to move out to lenders lot and come back instead dealing with all the potential problems created by this.

Re: Pitting at the Norwalk Points Event
We arrived at Summit Motorsports Park this afternoon around 3:00. We were told that if you want to pit for the national event you would have to go to the west side (grassy area). If you want to stay on the east side and plan on attending the national event those participants will be relocated on Sunday. We were also told that the scales and fuel check will only be open on the east side. Sooo if you are pitting on the west side and have to weigh and submit fuel you have a bit of a trip. Thats the story concerning pitting for both events.
