Ihra national events are back!!

I hope you enjoy IHRA racing this year as Nhra needs some competition, they've been keeping drag racing hostage for decades now.

I don't see how Wednesday and Thursday will help out the working man. Friday equals what then? Sorry so negative but this is not going to work well with racers who have jobs!

Drag Racing hasn't been a working man's sport for decades in my observations. It's literally been a privileged class society and you can see that in the pit/tow vehicles attending these races. Nobody does this for the money. IHRA just gave the racers a "Money Reason" to race. $6000 to win Stock Eliminator and $2000 to Runner up is as good as it gets.

Hopefully they can find their stride and have some success. I for one think that having two options for associations is a net positive for Drag Racing. I have the same obvious concerns based upon their recent history, but my hope is that it works out.

I might give the Galot race a try. We will see how it goes. I am sure there will be some of a learning curve for them. Good purse for the entry fee.

Re: Ihra national events are back!!

The recent history of big money events for Stk and SS have proven that the majority of people hate money. The majority seem to do it for the trophy and abusive relationship handed out by the promoter. In my opinion nothing bad comes from multiple people competing for our business. I appreciate anyone who will take on the risk to give me a place to race and hang out with like minded individuals. For a low budget guy with limited vacation time and a family at home I have to prioritize where I put my resources. 4 days at the track is an investment. But a Winning a National Event compared to what IHRA is willing to put up is a no brainer for me.

We should all ask ourselves has Class racing gotten better or worse since IHRA went away? We all hate quotas, new rules, AHFS but yet don?t want to support other options.
