Attn. Turbo Action Cheetah shifter users
Looking to change the shifter in my racecar. Thinking of getting a Turbo Action Cheetah shifter since they pay contingency. Can any users out there share their experiences with this product? Thanks in advance. Is the neutral safety switch built in?

Re: Attn. Turbo Action Cheetah shifter useds
Mine came in my car when I bought it decades ago ..I Love it….That is one tough shifter cable . I have burned it , drug it on the ground when I pulled motor/trans and forgot to disconnect it ….AMAZING?:):)

Re: Attn. Turbo Action Cheetah shifter useds
I installed one new in my Nova 4 years ago. It has always worked flawlessly! Yes, the neutral safety switch is built in. I also agree the cable is beefy compared to a B&M type cable. I use the red button that comes with for my line loc.

Re: Attn. Turbo Action Cheetah shifter useds
Same here, my car came with an ancient Cheetah shifter and it works great, never had any issues and I like the lock-out mechanism that doesn't require hitting an additional lever like a quarter stick does.

Re: Attn. Turbo Action Cheetah shifter useds
I always had one in my Stocker and most of my customers request one for their builds.
Relatively fool proof. Neutral safety switch is separate but mounts with the same fasteners as the shifter. If you change valve bodies or shift patterns ,no need to get another shifter ,The shift gate is easily interchanged |
Re: Attn. Turbo Action Cheetah shifter useds
Put one in my car when I built it in 1993. Still in the car and works awesome! Definitely recommend this shifter.

Re: Attn. Turbo Action Cheetah shifter useds
I've probably installed at least 15 Cheetah shifters over the years and never a problem.
I always find it interesting when I walk by a car with a chrome detent plate on his Cheetah, that tells me that the shifter is probably at least 20 years old and still in service. |
