Dean Cook Memorial Race - June 8th

As everyone knows, we lost a true gentleman in the sport last year with the passing of Dean Cook. He was a great racer and even a greater person. Throughout his involvement in drag racing, he was one that was always willing to lend a hand. Dean was also one of the biggest supporters of the All Star Racing Association. He was involved with the ASRA since its inception in 1982 and was always looking for creative ways to contribute to the association as a sponsor.

It is with great honor to announce that ASRA is going to hold our race on Saturday, June 8th at New England Dragway in memory of Dean Cook. The memorial race will include an increased payout of an extra $350 to the winner, $200 to the runner up, and $100 to each semifinalist. For ASRA Members, this now makes the winners purse a guaranteed $2,000 to win and $1,000 runner up with round money still starting with a 1st round win.

As with prior memorial races run in conjunction with ASRA, if there is anyone interested in making additional donations to the race purse in honor of Dean Cook, please reach out to any of the board of directors.

This race will be part of the double header weekend where there are four $100 VP racing fuels gift certificates that will be awarded to the 4 racers that earn the most points over the two days. The gift certificates are courtesy of New England Dragway and VP Racing Fuels.

Although I won't be able to make the long trip north, I would like to add $500 to the purse. $250 to both the loosing semifinalist. If there is only one car give the other $250 to the runner up. You don't need to be a member to win this money. As TJ said they don't come any better than Dean. Thanks Barry

Can someone text me or post where to send the check. I will put it in the mail tomorrow. 413-5797729

Thanks to the ASRA dedicating this race to honor Dean Cook , A real 3 pedal man, friend of 45yrs. I'm inspired to do as he has done in the past and create a side award. So, in His Honor, I'm posting up $200 to the Stick Shift driver who advances the furthest (rounds). In the event of a tie, the driver with the better RT in qualifying is the winner. Any stick shift entrant can win, not limited to ASRA members...
Good Luck to All ,

I can't make the race. Actually, my race car got hit in the pits at Epping National by parties unknown and it's in the body shop. That aside, I was friends with Dean for a long time and since he was a dedicated Ford guy, I'll throw $100 to the highest finishing Ford. (In case of a tie, best RT on their last race wins). Let me know who the winner is and I'll pay at Lebanon points race. Thanks.
