Constantly updated, in case you've seen it before.
Also, if you want to know what real gassers looked like, as opposed to Facebook "Gassers", check them out. |

Wow...how to lose 45 minutes when you tell the wife "I'll be right back" LOL!!!
Awesome site, thanks for the link! |
Re: Nothing better to do?
Hey Billy,
People are supposed to be working on their stuff, not looking at pictures all day. :) |
Re: Nothing better to do?
One of these days I'll learn to stay off the computer when I have work to do, instead of "I'll just sit down for a minute and see if there's anything going on"

I was 18 years old in 1963. Had just enough money to buy the magazines that featured these and then drool..

Very cool pics!!!
Just curious, what did the cars run in those days? |
Re: Nothing better to do?
Very cool site, thanks for the link, Billy. Interesting to see some Stock S/S racers then that moved into Top Fuel and Funny Car classes down the road. Also some pretty interesting looking headers and traction devices on many of the cars. Some pretty sketchy looking trailer, ramp trucks, and tow vehicles by modern standards, but I guess they were not all that old at the time. Still, towing with a 6 cylinder, 3 speed on the column with a non syncro 1rst gear, 4 wheel manual drum brakes, and no trailer brakes, must have made for some white knuckle hauls.
