Hey NHRA! Communication is important

Proper communication can alleviate a lot of problems in all aspects of our lives from business to relationships. Poor communication is most often an unforced error.

We see that played out by the powers that be in the NHRA especially in the Tech area. I am not sure if it is from not caring, arrogance, ability, or someone simply has not shown them how to communicate effectively. Not all their decisions are bad, but they have effectively turned a good decision into a bad taste in many mouths due to poorly communicating their reasoning in way to many instances.

Another example that drives me to distraction are the emails that we get from the NHRA about national event registration and divisional registration. Can someone send them back to email school? It is a major faux pas to use multiple colors, fonts, and poor flow when drafting these emails. They are an alphabet soup.

I have been writing business emails that are financially critical for many years and not once have I used any of those methods to get the information across. Have mercy!

While I am on this rant. Can someone remove whoever is in charge of IT at the NHRA? There is no indication that anyone proofs the end product. Live Timing rarely starts on time. Detailed results are hit and miss whether they include all the runs. The entire engagement between the racer and the NHRA via any of their tech portals are archaic. These are just a couple of examples.

Rant over.

Last week's two double Divisionals were a total mish-mash!

Invariably, someone will write back here, saying it's free ..What do you want for nothin' ?
Well , it's not FREE...Some of us have been paying for over 50 years...and it's still amateur hour out there

Or NHRA can take steps to improve. Business is like a race car when improvement stops you fall behind the competition.

EXACTLY! Why would they when they know that you, me, we are still showing up regardless of the the track prep, regardless of the payout, regardless of contingency, regardless of no tech, regardless of their decisions. The only way we don't show up is if they stop giving Wally's to the winners.
