Topeka Weather

We will be releasing the Topeka Doubleheader Run Schedule on Monday. The more racers that have purchased their entries and completed their tech cards, the more efficient that schedule can be and give us more opportunities to keep you out of the heat. Please go to https://tickets.thefoat.com/Heartlan...-UjxZ9qU6QIqU/ to get credentials and follow the link in your confirmation email for the online tech card.
We know it’s going to be hot and we will do everything we can to make it as bearable as possible, including:
-Earlier start times
-Canopies setup with water, electrolyte packs and cold towels
-Limiting time in the lanes with less class stacking and calling large classes to the lanes in smaller groups (during qualifying).
-Completing track prep before to calling cars to the lanes
Prior to the race, make sure you have made plans to keep yourself as cool as possible. Start hydrating early and drink plenty of water and/or sports drink during the event, have shade at your pit area, check your ACs, bring plenty of ice with rags and cooling vests/packs, pack an umbrella for some relief in the lanes.
We can all work together to have a great event, despite the hot temperatures. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the original Double LODRS! With heat indexes 110 plus won't be fun. Tom

What happened to the races in the fall when the weather was not as hot? It was cool and fast and a lot of west coast races showed up on there way home from Indy.

Just another example of how inept NHRA has become. Highs in the 104 range and you guys want to race ? Ha ha…I believe the person in charge may already be feeling the effects of excessive heat ..GOOD LUCK ….Dedicated to SAFETY has now become Dedicated to SCHEDULE. …..

Maybe everyone should not go maybe NHRA will change there scheduling Div 5 gets started so late in the season. And no divisional in Brainerd really? Why wouldn't NHRA postpone. Will be interesting to see how many show up.

That was a track decision, based on the change to national event scheduling that put Topeka the weekend prior to Brainerd.

The car count was way down in 2022 when the divisional was moved to June rather than the weekend prior to the national event.

If I remember right, this track is being challenged by local zoning a while back. Don't know how it is working out. But if you want to race, you be there. May not still be there soon, get it while you can..

Thank y'all for implementing these things. They will be appreciated.

The problem is they have our money, they asked to enter early so they could set schedules but no refunds. Also did not see where you just enter the first race. It was both or the second race. If I get heat stroke the first race I lose my entry for the second. Also no power in the south pits, generator will be screaming for help. Tom

I think the current issue they are dealing with is real estate taxes. Big gap in what the county thinks the value of the property is and what they track owner thinks.
