McNeal Freeman racing for $400,000!
I was quite surprised to see McNeal all the way out in Pomona for the Winternationals last week. (Congratulations on your ΒΌ-final finish.) However, today I learned the real reason for his western trip: to stop off for a shot at the Spring Fling Million at The Strip at Las Vegas. The guaranteed winner's prize for Friday's Million was announced at $400,000, meaning at least 350 entries at $2000 each.
I'm only part way through watching the 1st round, so I can't report results, but McNeal, Paz, and Lamb were some of the class racers that I've already seen. 2023 Spring Fling Million - Friday |

How far did he go? Need to win Rd.3 to start collecting $$$. 364 cars at $2k a pop for approx. $728k purse. Buybacks could add to that. I hope he made plenty of gas money!

How cool would it be to see a V6 4 door Caprice being chased down by a bunch of dragsters! Good luck, McNeal !

My son and I enjoyed chatting with him at the Winters.
He is really quite a character and we had some laughs! That is saying a lot coming from me. |
Re: McNeal Freeman racing for $400,000!
The video guy from the Spring Fling was in McNeal's backseat when he did his burnout, gave him some cash and exited, it was great. They did a good presentation on him.
Tyler Bohannan was another class racer along with a couple of guys with either a Copo or Cobra Jets, and Lane Weber. Lamb's crew chief was Dan Fletcher, as Lamb was the runner up in the Pro class. There were quite a few of Super class racers there as well as the heavy hitters of bracket racing. Kyle Cultrera was runner up in the finals to winner Andy Schmall. They also used TruStart on the tree. Saw several brutal packages and quite a few off pace runs. People were hitting the tree with double O's then turning around with a .035 or .041. Saw a couple guys go triple zero and 1 over. Saw a couple of side by side .002's and identical dials. There were some unreal runs, great entertainment. |

That video in the back seat was pretty cool. Also good job by Lane Weber. Went a few rounds in both the million and the 100k. Was hoping he could turn on a couple more. The no box guys did a great job all weekend.

Re: McNeal Freeman racing for $400,000!
Wow guys, thanks for the mention! I had a pretty decent weekend for sure!
I tried to find McNeal but riding my bike in those nasty cold winds it was tough to do anything. The cool thing with McNeal getting into the Million was he won a $50 raffle for his entry! The announcers thought it was awesome! My Skyhawk is about to get worked on to get it back on the track, I`m in a groove with the Firebird and going to try and keep it going. Thanks again!! |
