Good morning Billy and to all,
I've been viewing some of these and this video in particular. There's also some Great footage from Dover and you might be interested video's from Tom Jobe and the Surfers Top Fuel Team from the 60's. Listening to these guys talk about how they tackled and overcame various problems makes me sit back and think about how far we have all advanced from then till now.
Just remember to shoot that footage required a Camera of very large proportions and today we use our camera phones and the images are 100 times sharper and clearer. Lots of good stuff out there, we have to just take the time to listen.
P.S. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all my friends and racers out there. Take the time to enjoy the Season with Family and Friends.

Respectfully,
Henry Kunz 1534 H/SA

Cool video, Big is my all time favorite, followed closely by Mad Dog, Carlton, Herb and Sox (in that order).

But take heart! Gates open at Orlando for the D2 race in just six weeks!

Great video I'd never seen, and it immediately brought back the feelings, sights, and sounds I'd forgotten about when I first went to a drag strip.

I may be wrong, but I'm thinking that the announcer in that short shot inside the tower is a very young Bob Frey.

It very well could be Bob. I know that he was the announcer when I was racing there.

Yes, that's a young Bob Frey.
Still lives here in town. I run into him a couple times a year.
