RIP Ron Sanders
 

Ron Sanders passed on Friday July 29th.

Ron held 7 NHRA national records in the 1960's with a 61 Pontiac station wagon and won many divisional and local races. I remember going to the Turkey Day race in Atco in 1970-73 and always staying late because he seemed to win or go late rounds at that event. I carried the jug with the burnout water and was freezing, but as a 13 year old, I was thrilled to have any part of it.

I spent the day with Ron on July 17th at NJMP, where his son, Dave won in 2 classes at the SCCA race. Glad I got to speak with him.
