"Live From" Maple Grove D1 LODRS
Hey guys, its only Wednesday, but the track will be open for parking at 1 or so I have been told. The weather for Thursday's test session and Friday does not look good, but you never know at the Grove... the rest of the weekend looks good. There are about 60 rigs in line, I'm curios to see the turnout at this race. With the possible weather along with fuel prices, it will be interesting. Maple Grove always has good cars counts, so a light turnout will be telling for what the rest of the season will be like.
I should have time to get lots more photos, Virginia was a tough race to cover. I'm hoping to also get a in car camera for this race, I just have to find a willing subject. Todays weather is nice, so parking should go smoothly. |

I’ll be rolling in early am on Friday with the Gremlin and the Dakota. You are welcome to put a camera in either or both. The Gremlin has a full cage so it is mount friendly, Dakota might be tougher to find a spot to mount. Eric |

Re: "Live From" Maple Grove D1 LODRS
If anyone would like to stop by my pits this weekend and sign a get well card for the Super Gas Racer Will Munroe who was injured at Cecil this past weekend. His family is also asking if anyone would like to throw together some team shirts or stickers (He's a Large) for when he does come out of the coma he has something to put a smile on his face. I will be sending the care package out on Monday after MG, so if you want to give me something to include stop by, I should be there around 3pm tomorrow. I know Jack has already said he will bring by some Class Racer items.

Good afternoon- Just like most of you there is nothing like racing at your home track - for me, Maple Grove has been my home track since the early seventies and it's way too late to change now.As a matter of fact why would I ?? With the Koretsky family now at the reins as the new owners things are looking up for sure .They have the drive and the money to make this track even greater .
In an hour or so it'll be like the gold rush stampede when they finally open the gates . |

Well parking did not start until 4pm, and to be fair that's what it said on the D1 site. It was a little crazy when the gates opened, there were about a dozen rigs in the first few rows that were left with no way to move them. It made it hard to navigate around them. Not sure why any would leave there rigs like that, I guess they did not realize the issue it caused. Anyway we all got in and parked, there is a good amount of cars here, and I was told that over 400 had registered for this race.
I found a few cars out today. Tomorrow the test and tune starts at 11am, finishes up a 5pm |

Good morning - Heard a good one this morning - "How do you know if you're at Maple Grove " ??? Look up it's cloudy .And today is no different as it's cloudy and a chilly 59 degrees -more like Dutch Classic weather .Good news is the warm weather will be here by the weekend .More good news is I'm told there are already more than 400 entries to this event - a good sign for sure .
Plenty of good pit space left -even some on the macadam ( yes, that's what we call it in Pennsylvania). Today is test n tune that is to start at 11. Later ........ |

Re: "Live From" Maple Grove D1 LODRS
Everyone was asking last weekend "Whats up with car counts?" I heard from Chad at Cecil and he said they were below 300 total and it wasn't a good weekend in their books....I joked and said just imagine if you had it in August with the rising fuel costs, he was like you know you might be correct.
I think this weekend will be the true test to see how car counts will be, you'll have your diehards that will be there rain or shine, $2 a gallon or $8 a gallon but, it will be a judge to see where things come out in total car counts. This is normally a 550 to 600 car count event. Also, have to remember this event hasn't been run in over 2 years on this weekend, 2 years ago COVID moved it to the Dutch Weekend in September and we went 1/8 mile racing due to rain and last year was 3 days of rain and they tried to move it to Monday only to have the track not hold rubber and had to be pushed till late August. So we will wait and see what things look like once it's all said and done Sunday Night |

Hey guys, the test session started late, and it looks to be light, but cars are still coming in. Here a some shots from behind the starting line. Weather wise we are still in good shape for today. Friday does not look good, but the rest of the weekend looks great.
