Live from Cecil County,MD - NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Good morning members and guests - parking went well yesterday evening with plenty of space for everyone .Then it was the usual -standing around Be-esing and complaining about the events of late - ultra high gas and diesel prices, parts shortages ,lack of employees, even a little about the $200 to enter and the $100 test n tune fee. And then it go to the new schedule for this weekend - seems everyone is OK with going home early but not the part about no Q run Saturday morning before elims.Would you believe no one complained about higher beer prices....hmmmmm.
And then will talk about the storm that came thru last night - ugly, very ugly.Today it's overcast and misty but they say it should clear up this afternoon in time for t n t session . Remember - I'm only the messenger ! ! ! So far entries are light but it's early - saddle up kids and get yourself here ........Later. |

Re: Live from Cecil County,MD - NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Evening gang- It turned out to be a long day -by the time the clouds and mist left the track it was way past 2:00 and even then they had to try and get the track to hook which took awhile but when it finally did it produce some great 60' times. All that and when the Sun finally appeared it got to temps in the mid-eighties.
The DA most of the afternoon and evening were in the 27 to 3100' range so ET's were not record setting stuff but not bad .One run that stood out to me was done by Bob Broadbent in his A/S '69 Camaro - 9.96 with big MPH . There is still plenty of premium pit space left as the turnout as of this evening is anything but full for sure - looks like it will have some low car counts in some classes .Sign of the times???? It's anybody's guess at this point . Took some pics today but dinner is ready -- maybe later . |
Re: Live from Cecil County,MD - NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Good morning - So during the night and early this AM racers decided to show up - the pits aren't full by any means but it's starting to look good .Even at this early hour the Sun is shining along with scattered cloud cover.
In a few hours we'll get this show going -today is time trials and qualifying -that will happen today and today only as round 1 for everyone will take place tomorrow . OK- this reporter won't be photog of the year anytime soon - all the photos I took yesterday were the wrong size -opps - demerits for me ! ! ! |
