327/275 combo question
With all this talk about ahfs I have a question. Awhile back someone on this forum said some years back a racer(didn't give a name) hammered the 327/275 engine combo in Englishtown I think. Can you tell me what the hp was before that run was made? IHRA is currently a 295/NHRA is at 299. What was the ET on that run? I say give all us non-aerodynamic little Chevy II's a break(HA HA)
Also Mr. Lee(Jeff) I just can't make the H weight so for 08' im running SS/I. Hell right now im 60 heavy for I. Ed Carpenter 66 Chevy II 4244 SS/I |
Re: 327/275 combo question
No more doughnuts?
Well if it ever looks like we can run each other and you want to have some fun, let me know ahead of time and I'll go SS/I. Bring that Marcus Allen with you also. If nothing, we'll get some cool pictures off the line! Good luck in '08! |
Re: 327/275 combo question
Ed,
Can't tell you exactly who, but I think it was a combination of people running the 327/275 stick AND auto. There are/were some good combos in D1 and D3, Tim Abbazia and Scooter Anderson, to name two. I am NOT implicating them as the reason the Chevy II got horsepower. They have scienced out their respective combos and ran well. For your other answer, the Chevy II 327/275 was rated 295 before being increased to 299. I was shocked that they received the "gift." Did you get your wiring gremlins worked out? Did you get your newer motor sorted out? Ronnie, Jr |
Re: 327/275 combo question
I think that was a hit for the stockers......the Hp was @ 270 ...after that pass it went to 274 now that's stock.....I can't say for SS
