289 Ford NHRA Stocker C4 Ford transmission, torque converter, and 289 engine
C4 Ford transmission is a JPT reverse valve-body, roller bearing racing transmission having a 2:73 first gear that has 100+ runs on it. I think it’s still a good piece because of the low horsepower and torque of a 289
Torque converter is a 4000 stall of unknown manufacturer and.It has always worked well with this combination.
The 289 engine, intake to pan complete. It was freshened by Everett Hill, the original owner of this combination. The heads and valvetrain were freshened by Jimmy Bridges and the motor has approximately 25 runs on it since then.
In NHRA Stock it ran .035 - .065 under the indexes depending on the air. We ran N, O, and P/SA.
