Which master cylinder dia?

Thank`s |
Re: Which master cylinder dia?
I usually use a 1 1/32" master cylinder with that particular combination with a 6 to 1 pedal ratio.
Gives the best balance between pedal effort vs. pressure |
Re: Which master cylinder dia?
There's a lot that goes into proper brake pressure and most of it's math. Here is a good article from Joe's Racing that explains how to determine caliper area and pressure with different bore masters. I have a 68 Mustang and use a master from an 85 Fox body called a step bore or fast fill master. It has two piston diameters and gives manual foot pedal feel with power brake stopping power. Difficult to bleed.

Re: Which master cylinder dia?
I use a 1 inch bore Corvette master cylinder on my 67 Camaro Stock Eliminator car. 4 piston calipers on front and rear, no proportioning valve. Used same master when it was drum brake rear, pedal was a littler firmer but still held car on line and stopped fine at top end. BTW my car weights just under 3100 lbs.
