If God isn't dead, why do so many think that?
I'm just going to plop this here to provoke thought, not arguments. But with all the relative values about and the increase in depression, gender identity issues, the decline of organized religion, etc. it might warrant some introspection. Jordan Peterson has an amazing mind who's focus seems to be getting men to live responsibly in our changing world. I subscribe to his channel(s) simply because I'm nowhere near the destination I seek.

Well...
That's no Earth shattering revelation... Without "religion" there is no moral compass... No Ten Commandments... (which in my opinion is a set of basic laws to govern by, religion or no, the only "laws" that are really required. but that is another conversation)... no compass... no morals... And the result is what we are seeing today... All "religions" have their set of laws or rules to govern by... Without your compass, you are lost... Nietzsche was only stating that which to me should be the obvious... Without rules the result is anarchy... No right, no wrong, no consequences... anything goes... And usually does... That's why the Communist dictators eliminate god/religion right after guns... Take away your guns (sword/stick/whatever)... no means of resistance... Take away your morals, your sense of worth... no will to resist... It's happening as we speak... We have been warned by many... Over... And over... And over... |

You do not need a book, scrolls or any other device to live with honor and dignity.
The theory of God being dead is nonsense, God had to live to have died. God is a story written by man. There are some truths in the religious texts, but most are written to control man. The control is to instill fear that the afterlife cannot be the glorious life in valhalla. So if those texts are what you need to keep your life on the straight and narrow, so be it. 12 years of catholic prison made me understand what is real. “The Ethiops say that their gods are flat-nosed and black, While the Thracians say that theirs have blue eyes and red hair. Yet if cattle or horses or lions had hands and could draw, And could sculpt like men, then the horses would draw their gods Like horses, and cattle like cattle; and each they would shape Bodies of gods in the likeness, each kind, of their own.” ― Xenophanes

If God is dead, then who is this living in my soul - giving me comfort and happiness in this ever changing, crazy world.
"Faith over Fear" is my motto in today's messed up world. Thanks for letting me share and God Bless all of you. |

According to the Christian Bible, the God of that Bible has provided a perfect plan by which man can be forgiven of all sin, & have God live inside, in the form of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible describes God as a 3-part being, consisting of God the Father, His son Jesus, & His Spirit(referred to by some as the Holy Ghost). Lots of people have a problem understanding that. It seems pretty simple to me. I think of it as a egg. An egg consists of 3 basic parts, the shell, the white, & the yolk. All 3 parts are egg. There's egg shell, egg white, & egg yolk. All 3 parts make up the egg. Each part has it's own purpose. The Bible plan of salvation provides for life with God & fellow Christians, after this life on earth is finished. But, lots of people don't believe this. Some don't even believe the Bible is actually the Word of God. Hey, some don't even believe there IS a God, especially not one that created the entire universe, including mankind. Well, according to the Bible, it's basically believe it, receive it, & reap the benefits, OR doubt, reject it, & do without. IF the Bible is true, & you choose to reject it, the results will not be pleasant for you. So, bottom line: Believe & receive. Or, doubt & do without. God will not force anybody to believe. He leaves it up to each person. Heaven will be filled with those who believed it & acted on it. Hell will be filled with those who didn't. The choice is yours. You are responsible for your own decision. Nobody can make it for you ! |
