How long does the exemption for past champion entries last? Does it ever expire?

I believe 'event champion' is only guaranteed entry the following year. Past world champs can enter any event at any time, forever.

Past National champions receive provisional entries for life and event champions are guaranteed entry for the following year's event only.

Thanks everybody. That's what I kinda figured. I think the gold card is only good for one year.

Yep, there's that too. Division champion gold card holders can also enter at any time during the season following their championship.

Also silver cards can get in.
