Weight Issue Question Related to Safety and Licensing Rules
Stock and Super Stock........If the car has weight to stay in a slower class not to exceed 9.99 and avoid the added associated requirements of cage certification, competition license, and safety clothing, BUT can remove SOME of the weight or other change and stay legal in HEADS UP SITUATIONS ONLY.....are the driver credentials for 9.99 and quicker required and a 9.90-9.98 pass be considered a rule violation and/or disqualification ??? In any case the 9.99 or quicker pass is not the norm for round to round competition. Such as a 11.00 index class running 9.90 in a heads up situation. I ask this before but maybe not very clearly.

You'll get away with it............... once. And be prepared to get hollered at.

Best thing is to go ahead and get your license. Then carry the needed safety equipment with you if you need to run faster than 10.00. They can and will bounce you if you break that rule. Especially if the other driver protests you.

Agree with Mike and Billy on this. Chances are you can get away with it once but as Mike said if the other racer makes a stink over it you will most likely get bounced. This happened at the National Open race at Mooresville earlier this year. The racer in question was ok by IHRA rules and running an IHRA class but was bounced because safety equipment didn't meet NHRA rules. After he won his round a complaint from another racer got him bounced. Better safe than sorry I would say.

Re: Weight Issue Question Related to Safety and Licensing Ru
Let me say what I was told by D4 tech. I asked what happens if I run a 9.99 and the next round is the final round. Tech would inspect your car for all safety equipment and license. If all is good you get to race the finals. This includes having a chassis certification then you would be good to go. If not so sorry no ask for forgiveness one time. That is in D4 before Wesley came back.
