index plugs ?
SBC angle plug heads. does the plug gap go towards the piston or the head?
thanks Rod in AZ |
Re: index plugs ?
towards the piston. keeps electrode away from the piston.

Re: index plugs ?
The reason is to keep the gap from closing if the piston were to hit the grd strap

Re: index plugs ?
If the plugs are indexed incorrectly, you will probably know after the first run down the track. That’s how I found out ......As usual , ROD BUTCHER is correct ......I always buy a ten pack of plugs....

Re: index plugs ?
If with 10 plug you can't get them index correctly, Moroso sells indexing washers.
Moroso 71910 - Moroso Spark Plug Indexing Washers. They have 4 different washers Bob |
Re: index plugs ?
Bob, the washers you have/use, are they the ones that are sort of hollow/concave?
What I mean is the ones I had were hard to "seat" ; I never really knew if my plugs were tight or not. Terry K |

When I use them I tighten the plug till tight. The one's that I use are not hollow. Bob |
Re: index plugs ?
two kinds of index washers avialable.... flat or tapered. flat for early heads and tapered units for taper seat style plugs...
