Why are the Fords back in the Showdown?
As a diehard Ford fan, I am very happy that there are 9 Fords entered for the Factory Stock Showdown at the Gators. After last years' boycott, I didn't expect anything to be different this year. The Feb. National Dragster said that there were rule changes that convinced the Fords to return; but what exactly are those rule changes? I have searched the NHRA rulebook and the website but I can't find anything. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Guess we’ll have to wait till after the Gators to see if they stay in it....have no idea what the different platforms are doing in testing but have no doubt that Kevin is working his magic and the Stanfield and Barton groups are always clawing so it will be interesting to see.

With only a couple of Drag Pak entries the class would die out as a Camaro only eliminator - welcome back to the Cobra Jet guys from a diehard Bowtie guy ! ! ! !

Suddenly I have a reason to turn on the NHRATV preseason testing today and tomorrow.
