When to freshen our transmission
We've been running a Sepanic Metric 200 for over 15 years and knock on wood, have had absolutely no issues. We are definitely not the high horse power,,255hp 350 G/SA 1969 Camaro. Basically low 11,s but curious how many runs you guys go between rebuilds or freshenings???
I think these modern transmissions with today's technology are almost indestructible if built and maintained properly. I know fatigue is probably the big factor in breakage unless abuse, woops that's what we do every run, I mean over heat or improper transmission fluid. Our 200 is at Sepanic's now for some upgrades, but it had 280 runs and was still going strong after 3 years. |
Re: When to freshen our transmission
Our Protrans 904's run 200 to 300 runs often without freshening.
We do change trans fluid ever 25 runs and check band adjustment. You buy the best and ONLY cry once! The Smith family (Protrans) is the best. |
Re: When to freshen our transmission
I broke a rear u joint on the launch of my last run this year. Was wondering if I need to get my 200 checked out before I run it next year?

Other than that, the direct clutch can also be an item to look at.Some builders like to run a bit lower line pressure than I do in mine. This is probably an item that should be discussed with your builder.. |

I use T/A valve bodies , for the most part. Our setup takes that into account. PM me or text, if you want. |
