Nascar 9" gears

Has anyone used with any success Nascar 9" gears? I am looking to try some different gear ratios, and Nascar gear sets, which cost the teams over 600 dollars, are deburred, Rem polished, and treated. A couple people told me at the div1 race last week they have used them, and I was wondering if others have tried them with success. They can be bought for less than 150.00 with one race on them. Once I figured out what gear ratio works best, I would probably buy a pro gear, but would like to put them in for more than one race. I have a super stock car that weighs 3000 lbs with a trans brake. That on a good day will see high 1.30 60ft times.

Have used them many times and no problems.
Having worked in the past for one of the former premier NASCAR engine builders, I got lots of insight on the parts they purchase and used for the teams. They do not cut corners and buy the best.

I am trying to understand your post, Im assuming you mean no problems?

I was nvolved with IROC, and I understand what you mean by everything they use is top notch with no shortcuts.

Thanks for the input

Re: Nascar 9" gears

I have a set of 6.20 gears I installed recently. As far as I know most NASCAR gears are made by Gleason and new are in the $2000.00 range.Gleason only makes gears in 9310, which is the same as a pro gear.
There were no pinion depth markings or numbers to go by, so it took a little work to get them right.I got the depth close, then used the comet tail on the pinion to dial in the pattern.

I bought a center section that had them in it. Odd gear set 4:50 ratio. Ran them for years in a bracket car only changed because I wanted a different ratio.

Gleason figured out how to make 9310 gears live in NASCAR. They grind the gears as I understand it. GM bought the first 2 years of production so their teams had a exclusive for those 2 years.
