No electronics

Has anyone had success recently running SG or SST without electronics?

There are a few. At our series Mid Atlantic.90 we run on a true .400 tree for s/g and a true .500 tree for s/st. It makes it a little better for those with no transbrake. The races are run the same day. So picking a dump spot or adding weight can be done. This would be much harder to hit the # in a div or national on vastly different days and weather situations without a t-stop and good weather predictions.

There are quite a few very tough racers that don't use a throttle stop. Nick Siebert was leading D5 Super Street last year until the last day of the season.

Doing it without a delay box would be much more difficult and that's not as easy to quantify by observation.

No throttle stop or delay box, fun!

Re: No electronics

I ran D1 Super Street a couple years ago without a stop. I have a box in the car, but haven't used that in ten years. Went a few rounds at the first couple races I went to, started having car troubles second round at Lebanon Valley that plagued me the rest of the year. Went to 5 races, left LV #11 in points and ended up finishing 16th overall. I was running out to 1000' and dumping. Went 10.909 R1 at Maple Grove (#4 qual.) and 10.912 at Lebanon Valley (#2 qualifier). I was logging weather on some old dial gauges in the trailer as my handheld TAG was wonky every time I turned it on.

I built a new engine for the car last winter and it's a little too fast to use the 1000' and dump technique now. No real desire to run .90 classes...I'm inching closer to finishing my S/S car finally. Just did it for something to do and to collect a few grade points, which I think are no good now anyways? Oh well...

Do many .90 racers use Alcohol for consistency as many bracket guys do?

I have tried both and gas works better for me.
Gas is a little slower but more consistent for me.
Just my experience.
