Sad day, lost a good friend.

My long, long time close friend and race partner, Leonard Lamia passed away yesterday to a massive heart. This news will not make a big impact here, but I want to give him the honor. He was founder and owner of Auto Sports Center in Little Rock and most recently joined in partnership with Steve Haynes of Steve's Speed Shop fame to create The Speed Shop in No. Little Rock, one of the last independent speed shops in the mid-south. He and I partnered together on the SS/C Corvette I raced in 1988-1990 that garnered 4th in national points, runner up in Division 4 points and held the record in 1989. A staunch fan and supporter of class racing and he will be missed. He was a good one.

Re: Sad day, lost a good friend.
I always enjoyed visiting with Leonard and discussing anything race related. He loved to talk about racing and cars. He was just a fun guy to be around and anyone could not help but like him. If nothing else, I hope he was welcomed by some other Racing guys that left us before we wanted them too.

Flashback to the days he was located off Cantrell (Hwy 10) near Cajun’s Warf. L-O-N-G history in the speed shop business! RIP sir.

Re: Sad day, lost a good friend.
I remember when I first got stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base and looking for speed shops. I found Steve's Speed Shop and the Auto Sports Center on Cantrell. Leonard was always very helpful when I was young buying performance parts. I always loved going in the store and seeing the Corvette one of my all time favorite cars on display right in the store, it was there in the new store in North Little Rock when I moved last year. He was a great guy and will be missed. RIP
