Indy 2020

Planning to take advantage of low air fares right now and go to Indy. I haven’t seen a daily schedule yet but would it be safe to say that Thursday and Friday would be the usual class elim. days?

I have not looked for myself but was told no Thursday this year. If you were there on Thursday last year you would have seen a joke for pit parking. Then a mad rush to the staging lanes for the first time trial for stock. Barry

Indy usually starts on Wednesday( qualifying).Stock class Thursday. SS class Friday. First round eliminations Saturday. Can't see how they can eliminate a day after what happened last year.

Sorry Lyn you are right it was Wednesday that the parking nightmare was. Just looked at the event entry. Looks like no more Wednesday. So I wonder if that is how they are fixing the parking problems of last year. BP

Brian there will be no WEDNESDAY at Indy this year. It is a Thurs thru Monday race. I have NO idea when class eliminations will be contested. My hope is that NHRA will abstain from the dog and pony exhibition time runs this year, Additionally , It would be nice if all competitors can be parked in a timely matter and not be subjected to the clusterf—- they experienced last year.

Going to add Saturday to the trip then just in case. Round trip tickets went from $153 to $173 in a week. Got to pull trigger today.

Make sure you get the option to cancel. With the way things are going Indy isn't certain to happen.

At least the Stock/Super stock guys get pulled out in order. Last year I ran comp and the stage us in the circle track with the Alcohol guys and the manufacturers. They jumble us all together and park us on different days. What a mess. Parking as been a mess for several years, but last year was a new high.

The slower schedule has always been a big reason I go to Indy. Park on Monday, Crack a beer and visit with friends, Tech on Tuesday, crack a beer and repeat. First run Wednesday etc. NHRA has slowly destroyed the US Nationals experience over the past 5 years.

The cheap flights don’t have a cancellation option.
