Re: Ron Conley s/stock
I had the pleasure of racing, and often loosing to Ron at Super Stock events at 75-80 Dragway. He was always a gentleman, and a great competitor, and one tough driver. R.I.P.

Re: Ron Conley s/stock
I remember seeing him winning the Summernationals at Englishtown in Super Stock, 1992? He had that Camaro that was one color on the driver side and a different color on the other side. I remember Bob Frey always commenting on the color of the car depending on what side you were spectating from. I think it was like a light green on one side and white on the other.

Re: Ron Conley s/stock
The Camaro was owned by a pilot from Colorado before Bill Skinner bought it.
It was raced at Island Dragway by the pilot at least once. Bill Skinner had a Rad shop 5 minutes from Island Dragway I worked on the Camaro once for Bill Skinner at his shop before Ron Conley started driving it. I Degreed a cam for him and installed it in the car. Ron was a good driver and I think had a Monza GT car at one time The Camaro usually was a big wheelstander and got the guardrail at Maple Grove once but I don’t recall who was driving. Luckily it came down before grazing the guardrail. Sorry to read about Ron. I do remember meeting him with Bill once. RIP |
