Edelbrock Comp Cams?

Was at dinner tonight and got a call from a very very good source. It is that Edelbrock has bought Comp Cams and is moving Edelbrock to Tennessee?

I think it would be much more likely that Comp would have bought Edelbrock. But I don't know anything one way or another.

I am sure manufacturing could be done for far less in the Southeast than in Cali.

However I think the move would be very expensive.

Re: Edelbrock Comp Cams?

Actually Industrial Opportunity Partners purchased Comp Performance Group. IOP has owned Edelbrock for almost ten years. The purchase of CPG includes Comp Cams, TCI, FAST, RHS, V Thunder, Powerhouse, Comp Cams Go Parts, Lunati, Crane, Inglese and ZEX. I heard Edelbrock will have a distribution center in the CPG building in Olive Branch, MS but I don't think they are moving everything there.

Yeah, with all the foundry equipment in Ca I don't see that moving.

I work for an Edelbrock distributor and we were told that the Edelbrock warehouse in California will shut down on Feb. 7th and be closed for about 1 month. So it looks like all the finished goods will be sent to Olive Branch. I would imagine that the foundry remains in California.

I certainly don't have any direct information on this, but I would have to think they would love to move the foundry out of CA. Not exactly a heavy industry friendly state........

Edelbrock’s foundry is a very modern facility it’s a wonder they state approval to build it when they did.
