S10 Race weight

Chevy S10, looking at a combo that is minimum weight of about 2900 with driver. How light can a S/S style S-truck get with iron head small block? Will it be trouble to get it to this weight area? Thanks

The lightest I could make my SS Sonoma was 2860 lbs. with 215 lb. driver. This took some work.

Pustelny will know. He built a couple of them, and is always very weight-conscious. Fred Allen's truck comes to mind.

My 97 S10 is 2700 without me. I dont have inner fenders, but all glass, dash, door panels, and aluminum head sbc.
