LS in 3rd gen Camaro suggestions
I am going with a 5.3 LS in my 83 Camaro.
Will have a carb and P.G.set up for now, F. I. and turbo 400 at some point for super stock G.T. Looking for suggestions for headers and engine mounts...thanks |
Re: LS in 3rd gen Camaro suggestions
I do not think that the 5.3 is an approved engine for S/S in a passenger car.

Re: LS in 3rd gen Camaro suggestions
I have a set of stainless headers I used before putting in engine/mid plates. I may have the std engine mounts also, have to look. PM me if interested.
2008 Impala 5.3 is in the guide 303hp factor - 243 or 799 heads 77mm TB Jason |
Re: LS in 3rd gen Camaro suggestions
The 2007-2008 5.3 out of the Pontiac Grand Prix GXP's and Impala SS is approved and in the book. Rated at 303 in GT. It uses either the 799 or 243 cylinder head. I had started putting one of these together and got involved in another project. From the few I've talked to it should be a pretty decent combo.
Rick Edit. Guess I should have read Jason's post he had all that info in there. |

Re: LS in 3rd gen Camaro suggestions
Check out the Holley/Hooker LS swap parts online.
Where are you located? I am doing an LS swap on an 82 Camaro this summer and have all those Holley/Hooker parts in Muskegon, Michigan. What do you have for a 12 bolt rear end? Contact me by text or phone 231-740-5534 for more information. Fred Lee |
