Re: Stock/SS Combo @LVMS this Weekend!
Much love to Jon for doing this. Even though I drove like stink it made the whole weekend worthwhile. Hot temps and an event that was otherwise not very well run made it somewhat miserable but the Combo was a shining spot from my perspective.
Irving Family = Class Act....yep, it's official! |

Re: Stock/SS Combo @LVMS this Weekend!
We arrived at the track Friday along with other Stock/SS racers....
We found out the Painters were not very interested in Running this category after 17 years due to the size of the turnout. We had understood that if they did not run S/SS due to turnout we could use our $185 entries to race Nostaligia Superstock and at least be able to race. However, We we talked to the Nostaligia Superstock folks they stated: We would have to join the association for $150 PLUS Our stockers were NOT in conformance with their rules to race in the association anyway and also many were not even old enough for their program. My son talked to the Painters and the said that as long as we had paid our entry to race at the meet.........He would allow Jon to put on and run a Stock/SS race. However, they decided they would not put any money up for the race after all = and it would be up to Jon (BoulderCityTrailers.com) to sponsor the race out of his own pocket. He did so with the generous help of a lot of the other Stock/SS racers. A special thanks to Shane at Precision Cylinders for providing a $500.00 Winner and $250 RU Certificates. The Painters have been generous enough to let Jon organize and run the race himself again next year and he WILL have the time to do a good job! We we able to gather 14 racers on very little notice. We paid: $1,200. Winner plus $500 Certificate 600. Runner Up plus $250 Certificate 250. Semis 130 First Round Winners It was the best Jon could do on so very very short notice..... Sorry for the jumbled wording = It is Midnight and I just got back home. |
