Len, What about National Records?
Len,
With the change to combine FI with carb classes, what will happen to the FI National Records? Will they go away? Be blended in with current carb records? Or shown as a record in the FI class until they expire, even though the class won't exist beyond 2007? Thanks, Marty 3657 I & J/FIA |
Re: Len, What about National Records?
Marty,
The record would go away because the specific class would be retired. However, you could say that those holding records at the time the classes were retired would indefinitely hold the record in the NHRA archives. |
Re: Len, What about National Records?
Great question! I think that is the only fair way to do it is retire the class and the record.

Re: Len, What about National Records?
Around 1971 some classes were changed and I don't remember the specifics but my partner and I held the H/S record for well over 1 year. Rules changes had a lower class J/S car move into our class. Our record was 12.25. The J/S record was 12.23. Our record was removed and the J/S record holders ET was substituted. I was real unhappy with that one and wrote a letter to NHRA. To their credit they published it in N.D.

Len,
Thanks for a quick response to the question. I was hoping for a different answer, but I understand why it has to be this way. Marty |
